Afternoon Tea at Montcalm Mayfair

Montcalm Mayfair

Co-curated by Chef Roger Hutchinson, the menu draws inspiration from Constance Spry — the revolutionary florist and culinary pioneer who seamlessly blended food and flowers to create magical dining moments.

Set in the heart of Mayfair, this experience becomes more than an Afternoon Tea — it’s a celebration of conversation, culture, and curiosity. It also honours the enlightened legacy of Elizabeth Montagu, founder of the Blue Stockings Society and champion of refined gatherings and progressive thought.

The tea selection is a bespoke collaboration with Camellia’s Tea House, renowned for their artisanal, hand-crafted blends.

An Afternoon Tea Like No Other

Montcalm Mayfair and Lilli by Akira Back are proud to partner with the acclaimed production Into The Woods, bringing woodland whimsy to our afternoon tea. The land where Montcalm Mayfair now stands was once a thriving forest, just like the Baker and his Wife’s destination in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s classic musical. What makes afternoon tea in London special?

England is the birthplace of afternoon tea, and enjoying this perfect blend of tradition and artistry in the capital city is, for many, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There’s something truly wonderful about taking a break in the middle of a busy city and enjoying a moment of peaceful tranquillity, particularly when it’s accompanied by delicious food!

Do you need to book afternoon tea in advance?

We highly recommend booking your afternoon tea in advance. Although we will do our best to accommodate walk-in bookings, afternoon tea in London is an incredibly popular activity and spaces can be limited.

Are children welcome at afternoon tea?

At Montcalm Mayfair, the answer is yes. We even have a special afternoon tea menu for younger children, featuring some more child-friendly snacks and a couple of extra treats for good measure.

How long does afternoon tea last?

We generally recommend allowing 90 minutes for your afternoon tea seating. This allows you to sit back and enjoy afternoon tea as it was meant to be enjoyed; in a leisurely, relaxed manner with plenty of time for tea (and Champagne) between bites.

Where in London does the best afternoon tea?

Mayfair, Marylebone, and Park Lane are all renowned for their afternoon teas. At Montcalm Mayfair, we sit on the edge of both Mayfair and Marylebone, so it’s safe to say our afternoon tea one of the capital’s top options.
